Victoria will host the 2007 Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA) World Swimming Championships. The state won the event "comfortably" over Dubai. It is thought that the event will create 2,000 jobs for Victorians and generate $A100 million in economic activity, possibly attracting 12,000 interstate and international tourists. The championships will be broadcast live to around 600 million people worldwide.
