Manolo Meets Manhattan
NEW YORK - Manolo Blahnik saw his new salon at Bergdorf Goodman for the first time late last month when he attended an evening cocktail party in his honor held at the specialty store.
"It's different from the others; instead of paper on the walls, it's velvet," noted the oft-praised shoe designer. Within the last several weeks, Blahnik has been in town to receive awards from the Fashion Footwear Association of New York and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (see related story, Page 11).
