DuPont says its engineering polymers unit has acquired Eastman's high-performance crystalline plastics business. The business includes Eastman's liquid crystal polymer (LCP), polycyclohexylene dimethyl terephrhalate (PCT), and reinforced polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins, used mainly in the automotive, and electrical and electronics industries. DuPont says the deal includes technology rights and other intellectual property, but not physical assets or personnel. Terms were nor disclosed.
