ATLANTA -- Denim has been sliced and diced, beaten and dyed -- you name it.
So what's coming for fall 2004? Knitted denim, striated denim, stretch denim done in a way that doesn't offend guys, denim that looks like corduroy. Maybe even denim with shine.
"The future of denim is about technology," says Roseann Forde, global trend forecaster at DuPont Textiles & Interiors (DTI). "The basic cotton denim has had everything done to it. It's been bleached, dyed, colored and printed. We have done everything we can do, and now we have to think about what makes it comfortable too."
