Krakow. July 15. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Polish downstream fuel giant PKN Orlen's failed attempt to swallow up its local rival, Lotos (formerly Rafineria Gdanska), is not expected to hurt its local position, and in fact analysts say the company could even be better off, having USD 350 mln suddenly freed up. But the company's Central European consolidation designs are pressurized, especially since its main regional rival, Hungary's MOL, is currently beefing up.
