Jul. 16--In a historic show of cooperation, the association of Pennsylvania nursing homes and the state's largest health-care union are urging lawmakers to approve a tax on nursing homes.
The assessment would make the state eligible for increased federal funding.
The additional federal dollars would, in turn, prevent a 7.6 percent cut in state funding of nursing homes.
