CHICAGO -- Nobody has to tell Chicago Cubs manager Dusty Baker about the value of the World Series home-field advantage.
His San Francisco Giants were within six outs of a championship in October. Baker was so confident that when he removed starting pitcher Russ Ortiz from Game 6 against the Anaheim Angels at Edison Field, he took the game ball out of play and handed it to Ortiz as a keepsake.
The next thing Baker knew, not only had the Angels rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the bottom of the eighth to win Game 6, they had shut down the Giants in Game 7 to win the franchise's first World Series ...
