Wool Coats: Short Lengths Raise Hopes
NEW YORK -- Manufacturers are banking on new shapes, short lengths and a host of new embellishments to help wool coats bounce back for fall.
Their optimistic outlook is bolstered by declining fur, leather and shearling coat sales, and the sparse purchasing of wools over the past two fall seasons.
Admittedly, wool coat firms went into the fall season a year ago with a similar kind of optimism, spurred by their efforts to build fresh looks with short lengths.
