Jul. 17--The State of Nebraska is suing 10 former officers and directors of Amwest Surety Insurance Co., alleging that they mismanaged the company and caused financial losses that led to its li...uidation.
Amwest is based in Calabasas, Calif., but is domiciled in Nebraska, which means it falls under Nebraska's insurance regulations. The company issued bonds to guarantee contracting and other types of business performance, as well as bail bonds and other types of bonds.
