Jul. 17--WICHITA, Kan.--Local channels will soon be available to Kansas satellite television subscribers as EchoStar's Dish Network begins "local to local" service in the coming 60 to 90 days.
Another satellite provider, DirecTV, is "exploring options" and would like to serve the Wichita market but has no plans to begin service in the immediate future, said Robert Mercer, director of public relations.
