BUFFALO, N.Y., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 17, Sorrento Lactalis workers from the company's Buffalo production plant voted to reject the company's contract offer. By an 8-1 margin Sorrento workers, members of Teamsters Local 264, dissatisfied with the company's offer, voted to reject the contract. On the same night, the workers voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. The workers' main source of dissatisfaction comes from Sorrento's healthcare package, which is not in parity with the health insurance plans provided by dairy employers throughout western New York.
