Poland hands out two more mobile virtual network operating licenses

Warsaw. July 18. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Poland's telecom regulator, the URTiP, said Friday it had handed out two mobile virtual network operating (MVNO) licenses, giving one to Polpager Sp. z o.o. and Telephone Sp. z o.o. to bring the total number of MVNO licenses granted to 18.

Polpager is a telecom, data transmission and internet service provider, branded nationwide as Sferia.

Each 25-year license comes at a cost of EUR 5,000. The two companies join such licensees as the British National Grid's Energis, Deutsche Telekom division T-Systems Polska, internet firm Grupa Onet and many ...
