Jul. 18--CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa--A train control system developed in Cedar Rapids has been selected for pilot testing by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad Co.
Wabtec Railway Electronics has been awarded a contract for a train control pilot program using the company's electronic train management system. Work will begin immediately to install and test the system on 50 locomotives that operate along a 135-mile corridor between Centralia and Beardstown, Ill.
