SANDWICH, England - There likely was only one person more stunned yesterday than Ben Curtis, whose win at Royal St. George's easily was the most improbable in British Open history.
That would be the lone Internet bettor in all the United Kingdom who wagered 87 pounds ($138 American) at 1,000-1 odds that a 26-year-old from Kent, Ohio, ranked 396th in the world would make the British Open his first win on tour.
