SANDWICH, England -- Golfer Davis Love is, as they like to identify sportsmen on this side of the pond, the world No. 4, which is one slot behind where he is among the Davis Loves, being No. 3.
If he had any wit, he would insist on being called Davis Love the Eagle Three, but he is dry and serious and hidden under the bill of his cap, like most of the pro golf tour.
Or, for at least a day, Davis Love The First, that being his position in the British Open.
Because somebody has to, Love manages to lead this blow-dried, weed-whacked, prison-yard scrum after two rounds, less golf than old ...
