They're clinging to your porch screen. They're crawling in your garden. They're rising from your lawn. They're burrowing in your trees. They're swimming in your pond. They're feasting in your pantry.
They're beetles. And they are everywhere. They live in just about every imaginable habitat, on every continent except Antarctica. Some beetles are conspicuous, some live out their lives quietly unnoticed by humans. They may be predators, scavengers, decomposers or even parasites.
Whether you love 'em or whether you hate 'em, beetles are our neighbors. And there are lots of them!
