Brazil is a land of perpetual development. a condition particularly apparent today in the nation's rapidly growing, but fiercely competitive wood based panels industry.
New capacity is coming on thick and fast as national producers push ahead with schemes to upgrade and build ever bigger particleboard or medium density fibreboard lines. Eager to capture market share in Latin America's biggest economy, they do battle with foreign players in pursuit of the same goal.
MDF is still the most fiercely contested battleground, as manufacturers strive for scale with new lines and capitalise on the panel's versatility by introducing new value added products.
