NEW ORLEANS, July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- International trade negotiators from the United States and five Central American Countries will meet in New Orleans July 27 to August 1 for the sixth of nine negotiation rounds to create a free trade agreement. The U.S. Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) would lift duties on products traded between the United States and Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
The deal will complement the North American Free Trade Agreement, which has eliminated tariffs between the U.S, Canada and Mexico. The CAFTA partner countries have a combined economy of $57 billion, including approximately $20 billion in ...
