Jul. 24--John M. Barth will become chairman of Johnson Controls Inc., Wisconsin's largest company, on Jan. 1, succeeding James Keyes.
Barth, 57, was elected chairman during a meeting of the Johnson Controls board Wednesday. Keyes, who stepped down as chief executive officer last year, will retire as chairman Dec. 31.
Keyes, 62, joined Johnson Controls in 1966 and spent 14 years as CEO. He has been chairman since 1993.
