As Big Brother 4 hurtles towards its dramatic close tomorrow evening the great British public waits in tense anticipation for Davina McCall's announcement of the 2003 winner - or not, as the case seems to be.
Continuing announcements of a dramatic fall in viewing figures have forced producers to take desperate measures to spruce up the now flagging series.
They tried swapping Cameron, a Big Brother finalist, with Gae, who was appearing on a South African version of the show which was running at the same time as the British one.
