Jul. 23--Indiana's overall employment rate fell 2.2 percent through the last eight years, but nonprofits have bucked the trend.
Indiana University published a study this month that outlines nonprofits' role in the state's economy showing consistent growth in most areas of the state since 1995. Health care jobs, mostly in hospitals, make up about half the state's nonprofit employment, which in total makes up 8 percent of the work force.
