NEW YORK -- Mexx is getting ready to join the fray in New York.
Bolstered by its powerful parent, Liz Claiborne Inc., the 23-year-old Netherlands-based brand will open three stores in the U.S. market this fall. The first will be located in the prime former Claiborne space at Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street; the 10,000-square-foot store is slated for a soft opening on Sept. 12. The second, also 10,000 square feet, will open in the former Wiz space in Union Square in early October, and a third location -- its first mall site -- is planned for the Westchester Mall in White Plains, N.Y. That store will have 4,500 square feet of selling space.
