WOOL MARKETING CHANGES GET OK FROM IWS' McPHEE
NEW YORK - Proposed major changes in Australia's wool marketing got general approval from John McPhee, managing director of the International Wool Secretariat based in London.
Dr. McPhee said he welcomed recommendations to maintain a strong Australian commitment to worldwide wool promotion. However, McPhee noted that lower wool prices would mean some reduction in the IWS wool promotion budget as the current promotion levy of 3.5 percent paid by Australian growers is maintained under the proposed plans.
