Leagas Delaney's second most senior executive Nick Hough is leaving the agency to pursue a career outside the advertising industry.

Hough, who has been at Leagas Delaney for five years and was promoted from UK managing director to deputy chairman of Europe in 2000, will leave the agency at the end of the month. He reported to the agency's founder and chairman Tim Delaney.

Advertising insiders have predicted that Hough is poised to become chief executive of a well-known branding consultancy or to join a future trend-prediction company such as the Henley Centre. However, Hough said he was unable to confirm his plans as there were "other people involved".
