With health now understood as the optimum state of well-being, (1) women's health issues make especially tangible the interdependence and interconnection of all human rights. Women's health issues are clearly linked to gender relations and social context, which either foment or impede the exercise of citizenship, the appropriation of rights, access to quality of life and the possibilities of making decisions over one's own life.
