Women who make it professionally have to be very smart about their image. The media, their boards, investors, customers, employees or voters and power brokers, cut them, a lot less slack than they do for male professionals.
New York state's junior senator, Hillary Clinton, learned that the hard way during her husband's first presidential campaign. But learn she did. Her current image is a home run with some of the American public, and has helped her in the male-dominated U.S. Senate.
