Asian governments are generally interested in open source software but still cautiously investigating it.
Danese Cooper, senior manager for open source community liaison office of Sun Microsystems, Inc. says most of the governments in Asia are fully engaged in open source software.
Cooper, the most visible open source advocate, stressed that Sun?s role is to educate people on the benefits of an open source software by donating free Star Office software and help governments build their systems through open source programs.
