Jul. 26--In a surprising attack on a potential competitor, Qualcomm filed suit yesterday against Texas Instruments, saying the wireless chip maker had breached a key provision of its patent agreement.
Qualcomm's complaint, filed in Delaware state court, seeks to revoke Texas Instruments' rights to use Qualcomm's patented technology called code division multiple access, or CDMA.
The lawsuit springs from a cross-licensing agreement signed by Qualcomm and Texas Instruments in December 2000 that allowed each company to use the other's technology in making ...
