IT was pretty clear before the auction that the Bristol Auction Rooms were going to do quite well with their pair of First Period Worcester gugglets (bottle jugs).
They measured 24cm in height and were delicately blue painted in the rare The Lange Lijzen pattern. Only seven previous examples were known and dealers and collectors were extremely interested. They were well contested, with five telephone bidders, eventually selling to a buyer in the room for pounds 24,000 (plus buyer's premium).
