To the Editor: I and my coauthors thank Dr. Olson for his thoughtful letter (1) about our study. (2) As he so aptly put it, our patient exhibited three of the key diagnostic features of the Kluver-Bucy syndrome. With regard to outbursts of irritation, their presence does not exclude the diagnosis of this syndrome. The patient's behavior was rather passive most of the time, and her affect was blunted. Nowhere in our case report did we state that she developed aggressive behaviors. There were no frontal lesions shown on computed tomographic (CT) scans of the head, which we obtained twice. Similarly, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) disclosed no lesions. I certainly think ...
