Depending on who you talk to, mold is either the biggest scourge ever to hit the inside of homes or a minor inconvenience that has existed harmlessly for years, yet recently has been elevated to problem-of-the-year status.
Mold has become more of an issue in the last 25 years due to energy concerns as well as other factors, according to Joe Spurgeon, PhD, CIH, an industrial hygienist with Bay Shore Environmental in Placentia, Calif.
