The Brazilian largest household furnishings company Teka (Santa Catarina state) totaled debts of R$56.2mil (50% tied to the US dollar) in Q1 2003 (Jan-Mar), with a loss of R$16.1mil. The company's total production capacity is of 2,500 m tons per month of household furnishings, but this year the average is being of 1,500 m tons per month, since the production was stopped several times due to problems with the suppliers and lack of raw material.
