Jul. 30--WASHINGTON--As President Bush sought to nudge the Middle East peace process forward Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon balked at making a key concession sought by Palestinians: taking down a security fence in the West Bank.
"The security fence will continue to be built," Sharon said during a Rose Garden appearance with Bush, who had criticized the structure just four days earlier during a White House visit by Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas.
