Jul. 31--Just because the leader of the free world can't stay on one doesn't mean it's not perfect for power company employees.
Beginning next month, three Salt River Project meter readers will give up walking five to eight miles a day in the grueling heat to try the Segway Human Transporter, a two-wheeled, battery-powered scooter that uses a combination of computers, sensors and gyro-technology to balance itself.
