Aug. 1--Brian Rohter looks out across the asphalt parking lot at Southeast 20th Avenue and Division Street, and ponders the future.
The lot, at 2543 S.E. 20th Ave., has two empty buildings -- a tattered former grocery store and a defunct coin-operated laundry -- that stand as eyesores to the nearby residents of the Hosford-Abernathy neighborhood.
Rohter, the president of the New Seasons grocery store chain, lives in Southeast Portland and noticed the property in its vacant state for some time.
