In a move reflecting the market realities of the equipment rental industry today, Halt Cat, the San Antonio, Texas, Caterpillar equipment and engine distributor, announced plans to streamline its rental business by closing or merging a number of its Cat Rental Store operations. Holt also said it will drop most of the non-Cat built "allied equipment" lines from its rental fleets.
