KNOWN TO SOME AS THE NASCAR division, the NFC South was supposed to be one of the NFL's weakest links last season. Instead, it ended up producing the Super Bowl champion (the Tampa Bay Buccaneers), along with another playoff team (the Atlanta Falcons) and two dangerous squads opponents didn't want to catch on a good day (the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers).

The NFC South should be just as strong in 2003, with Tampa Bay poised to defend its rifle, Atlanta's Michael Vick remaining as quick and elusive as ever, and Carolina and New Orleans eyeing possible wild card berths in the playoffs.
