Signatories to the Kimberley Process met in Johannesburg, South Africa, in late April, for their first plenary session since the official implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) on January 1. During the meeting, a warning was issued to those nations who have not, or are not in the process of introducing the system designed to curb the flow of conflict diamonds into the legitimate pipeline, saying that, if they do not act appropriately and in a timely fashion, they will find themselves marginalized and isolated.
