Ted Giannoulas is no spring chicken.

He turns 50 this month. This is the 30th summer he's been pulling on the yellow leggings with the webbed feet, slipping into the red-colored wings and wearing the giant orange-beaked and blue-feathered head his mother made for him.

Yet the Famous San Diego Chicken clucks on. If anything, the world's best-known sports figure figures as long as he's still laughing, it's worth letting everyone else in on the joke.
