Aug. 3--Tom Rath put on a gray flannel suit for his job interview at United Broadcasting Corp.
It was the uniform of corporate America in 1953. Back then, young men suited up to make money and climb the ranks.
Many, like Rath, soon realized that working for a big company could be a humdrum grind -- their individuality, and goals, s...uelched by the corporate culture. Success meant conformity.
