If your heart's desire goes beyond the back yard, you probably don't need to go after it in the first place.
That's one of the lessons Dorothy learns in "The Wizard of Oz." It's also close to the central theme of this year's Food for Thought Recipe Contest.
Call it a Northern Heartland recipe contest - with a "Kansas twist" in its garden plot.
"We're looking for recipes that feature regional produce and products," says Punky Egan, lead instructor in the baking and pastry arts program at Madison Area Technical College and coordinator of the contest.
