Aug. 5--The 712,000-s...uare-foot Nebraska Furniture Mart kicked off its new Kansas City, Kan., store this weekend with a ...uiet opening for employees' friends and family.

By Monday, members of the general public were filing in to get an early peek at roughly 160,000 different products. The store, at Interstate 435 and State Avenue West by the Kansas Speedway, will officially open to the public today but will not have its grand opening until Aug. 15.
