Exasperated about her book group, Kathy Patton of Minnetonka said to another member, "This isn't working for me."
Her friend Marty Hesselroth agreed. The two women were more than annoyed that some people didn't even bother to read the selected book. Talk at their monthly meetings was about jobs and families, and book discussions rarely got beyond the plot. As members put on coats to go home, someone was likely to blurt out, "But we've barely talked about the book."
So before the next meeting, the two prepared a little speech: If people didn't have time to read, Patton and Hesselroth gladly would find another book ...
