VIRGINIA BEACH -- The idea came to him in a dream, with glass Pepsi bottles as playing pieces and a tray of ice as the board.
At the time, LeMar Callaway Jr. was working seven days a week as a second-shift forklift operator for the Pepsi plant in Norfolk. But he wanted to put his art and engineering training to use.
A month earlier, he had prayed to God for help. Then he had the dream.
Callaway got out of bed and quickly wrote down everything he could remember about the rules. At first, he drew grids on pieces of cardboard and used pennies and dimes for pieces.
