The conventional wisdom on Class AAA Colorado Springs shortstop Clint Barmes keeps changing for the better.
The Colorado Rockies once projected him to be a utility player in the majors. Last winter, they saw him as a regular second baseman in the big leagues, figuring he would get time at that position as well at shortstop this season with the Sky Sox.
Barmes did have a two-
game cameo at second base June 27-28. That's a position the Rockies believe he can play in the majors. But he went right back to shortstop, because the Rockies have become convinced Barmes can play there regularly in the major leagues.
