DAVAO CITY Two leaders of the New Peoples Army (NPA) have asked the junior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), who staged a 22-hour siege in Makati the other week, to defect and join the guerrilla movement for good governance.

NPA leader Rigoberto Sanchez and National Democratic Front (NDF) spokesman Jorge Madlos, alias Ka Oris, urged the young officers led by Navy Lt. Senior Grade Antonio Trillanes to defy their commander-in-chief.
