Aug. 7--QUESTION: I went to a prosthetics store for a new pair of braces my doctor prescribed. I was still in pain even after two attempts to fit me.
At my last doctor's visit, I was told my feet had changed since my last pair of braces were made. The doctor felt the rigid material was the cause.
He wrote another prescription with less rigid material.
When I informed the store of this by phone, I was told they could do nothing for me.
I spent $550 for braces that are not covered under my insurance plan. I cannot wear them.
Is there any recourse for me?
