A survey similar to the current Corrections Compendium survey, DNA Testing Within Correctional Systems, appeared in the August 2001 edition of the journal. The results published two years ago cited a bill signed into Florida law that year allowing a two-year window of opportunity for offenders to apply for DNA testing. The move was expected to increase the number of tests conducted and it was believed it would have a significant impact on the rest of the country's correctional systems.
