WHAT IS MISSING
How it ends in the old photograph:
my child-paws clutch the two lost teeth.
What pieces I note of your body
I isolate, focus on, kissing the eyes,
the white feet (they are small enough;
they could be anyone's). I do not know
where it went wrong between us
like the way there is blood on my ear
and we dab disinfectant,
search for the source, only to see
the same on you--a red kiss
transferred in our embrace from some
