Thousands of North children will be at risk from mumps for up to two years, because of a shortage of single vaccines.
Around 2,500 children have started a programme of individual vaccinations with private health company Direct Health 2000 - because of safety fears about the triple MMR jab - but 1,800 are still waiting for mumps jabs.
